Seven books from basics to intermediate
This library takes you from the most frequent Italian words to the small words that hold sentences together. Each book focuses on one topic, so you can study it in a single session and come back to it as a reference.
A suggested path
Start with frequency. The Most Used Italian Words Book and the Italian Verbs Book cover the vocabulary that appears in almost every conversation.
Speak in full sentences. The Italian Phrases Book gives you complete expressions you can use right away.
Master the small words. Italian prepositions often merge with the article (di + il = del). Practise them with the Italian Prepositions Book, and the Italian Adverbs Book helps you say how, when and where.
Link your ideas. At intermediate level, the Italian Connectors Book and the Italian Conjunctions Book help you build longer, more natural answers.
Tips for English speakers
- Every letter counts. Italian is pronounced as it is written, and double consonants are held a little longer: pena and penna are different words.
- Learn the article with the noun. Il libro, la casa, lo studente: the article tells you the gender and how the word behaves.
- Use the phrases as models. Change one word in each example phrase to create your own sentences.
